Deleting your data
Last updated: 28 October 2026
This page explains how to have your data deleted, and who to ask.
Who to ask
Finportal is the software advisory and fiduciary firms use to look after their clients. Your data belongs to the firm you dealt with; we handle it on their instruction. So ask that firm first — Swiss data protection law obliges them to answer you.
If you cannot remember which firm it was, or cannot reach them, write to info@finportal.ch. Tell us what you remember — your name, the email address or phone number you used, and roughly when. We will find the firm and pass your request on.
Finportal GmbHSulzerallee 708404 WinterthurIf you came through Facebook or Instagram
If you filled in a firm's form on Facebook or Instagram, that firm receives your answers through Finportal: your name, your email address, your phone number and whatever else the form asked.
What we do not receive is your Facebook account. No Facebook identifier is sent to us and we store none. A deletion request you start in your Facebook settings therefore has nothing here to match — not because we ignore it, but because nothing we hold is tied to your Facebook account.
Your answers from the form sit with the firm you sent them to. The request above is the right way to reach them, and it reaches further: it covers everything that firm holds about you.
If you have a confirmation code
If you asked through your Facebook settings, we gave you a code and an address. That page says what we found for your request. The address ends in /data-deletion/status/ followed by the code.
What is deleted and what stays
The firm decides what can go, and has to tell you what it keeps and why. Records it is required by law to retain — those belonging to a contract it concluded, for instance — it may not delete, even at your request.
We support the firm in doing it and delete on their instruction. When a firm leaves Finportal, its Facebook connections and the data fetched through them are removed.
Ask here
You can also ask here. Give the email address the firm has for you — that is what is searched for, and your request appears with your data where the firm will see it.
